The laser engraves faster than the planning does. The number below isn’t a quote — it’s the cadence the workshop runs on, so the brief lands in our inbox with enough runway for the bench, the proof, and the packing before the date.

What affects timing

The tier, the count, and the proof pace.

  • Substrate choice — Brass coins and hardwood caddies cut and engrave in different cadences; the quote pins down the timing once the tier is picked.
  • Batch size — A 30-piece coin run finishes faster than a 200-piece coin run — the laser path gets longer; the bench time scales with it.
  • Finish and colour-fill — Natural finish ships fastest; colour-filled or stain-heavy pieces add a hand-finish step at the end.
  • Proof approval turnaround — Two rounds of proof changes is the usual pace; extra rounds push the timeline forward by a working day each.
What we recommend

Brief early, lock the proof early, leave the rush quotes to us.

  • Brief at least 6 weeks before the wedding date — The 2–3 week lead-time starts from proof approval, not the brief — so the workshop needs the brief in hand before the venue deposit is final.
  • For runs over 60 pieces, allow 4–6 weeks — Bigger batches need longer at the bench. A 60-piece coin run can usually land inside three weeks; a 200-piece run cannot.
  • Rush turnaround is quoted by email — Shorter timelines are possible on small batches if the bench is light; ask in the brief and we’ll quote whether the slot exists.
  • Lock the design before the print deadline — Save-the-dates, menus, and signage wait on the wedding-favour artwork. Approving the proof early keeps the rest of the stationery on schedule.
